The Children's Hospital also provides a full spectrum of outpatient and inpatient pediatric medical and surgical subspecialty services. Damiano Pediatric Health Center serves a diverse patient population and conducts approximately 16,000 ambulatory primary care patient visits per year. The Children's Hospital at Saint Peter's houses a 54-bed Level IIII Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), an eight-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), two 20-bed Pediatric Inpatient Units, a 77-bassinet Term Newborn Nursery and an eight-bed Pediatric Emergency Department. Our Regional Perinatal Center attracts high-risk perinatal patients from towns and cities throughout New Jersey. One of eight State of New Jersey–designated children's hospitals, The Children's Hospital at Saint Peter's delivers as many as 6,000 babies annually and has over 2,000 pediatric inpatient admissions and approximately 25,000 pediatric emergency room visits each year. The Children's Hospital at Saint Peter's University Hospital is the largest provider of pediatric medical services in central New Jersey.
